PGA Junior League

Join the Tam O’Shanter PGA Junior League!

Our season runs from early May to mid-August, with one weekly practice and 5-8 exciting scrimmages and matches.

PGA Junior League is transforming how youth experience and learn golf by introducing league play, team dynamics, and a fun, point-based scoring system. Each team is led by a dedicated PGA Coach who provides a safe, supportive, and well-organized environment for every child to develop their skills and passion for golf.

  • What to Expect:

    • Practice & Play: One weekly practice, with 5-8 scrimmages/matches scheduled throughout the season.
    • Team Golf: Teams are part of local leagues, playing matches against each other at various golf courses. League standings are kept, adding excitement and competition to every match!
    • Coaching Excellence: PGA Coaches ensure the best learning experience, tailoring their program to fit players’ needs and families’ schedules.
  • How Matches Work:

    • Team Format: Players are divided into two-person teams (three if a substitute is included) for each game.
    • Scramble Play: Every game follows a two-person scramble format, where players work together to choose the best shot, taking turns from the same spot until the ball is holed.
    • Match Play Scoring: Instead of traditional score-to-par, PGA Junior League uses match play scoring, focusing on head-to-head competition and teamwork.
    • Flag Scoring: Each 9-hole match is divided into three “flags” (sets of three holes), and teams earn points for each flag won.
  • Championship Opportunities:

For those eligible, the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship Season offers a thrilling chance to compete in head-to-head matches and team stroke play competitions, with scoring based on performance relative to par.
